draft 4
one of my graphics team members suggested that we put the dftc logo on the top left corner for better branding. i realized that it’s a little hard to add in the “‘s” and have it look completely flushed with the logo. so i decided to try out a different subtitle that could feature the logo is on the left top corner for better branding.
however, after further discussion with the team, we decided that the original design looks more aesthetically pleasing. i then continued to work on the original draft.
drafts 5 & 6 (from left to right)
draft three has the title and subtitle aligned to the top left corner of the art board. instead of being completely aligned to the borders, they each have a margin border of different measurements. draft three has a margin of 20 pixels and draft four has a margin of 10 pixels. after discussing with my graphics team members, we decided that draft four with the 10 pixel margin is a happy medium between 0, 10, and 20.
i also opted to slightly adjust the sizes of the subtitle to create more space on the graphic and make the texts look less crowded around the events list.
draft 3
my graphics team advised for me to have the events arranged either straight up and down or directly across in a horizontal manner.
i personally didn’t like the way that the words looked when they’re just a straight line; i thought that it made the graphic look too boring and empty. so i opted to line the words along the outlines of the blue shades. it creates a more compelling and engaging look. i also increased the font size of the event names for better visibility.
drafts 1 & 2 (from left to right)
drafts one and two are among the first drafts i’ve made with the trans flag colors as the background. the title and the subtitle are both completely aligned with the top left corner of the art board with no margins.
the first draft was created as a very rough draft presentation of the events. the second draft was a slight edit with the list of events slightly adjusted to be smaller to create a better balance in the overall design.
after further discussion with my graphics team, we decided that the events are listed in a confusing manner with no obvious order to read the events in. we also decided that the font size of the days are too big in comparison to the font size for the event titles. with these pointers in mind, the following drafts were then created.
